Welcome to the blog for my memoir I'm Sorry You Feel That Way: The Astonishing but True Story of a Daughter, Sister, Slut, Wife, Mother, and Friend to Man and Dog (Amy Einhorn Books/Putnam.)

If your book club is reading I'm Sorry You Feel That Way, drop me an email at

imsorryyoufeelthatway [at] live [dot] com

I'd be happy to talk to you. If you're within a reasonable driving distance from southern Minnesota, I can be there in person; if not, I am a chatty Cathy on the telephone.

What is Tote Bag Nation?

I spent the first four months of 2008 making I'm Sorry You Feel That Way tote bags while watching marathons of America's Next Top Model. I sometimes made as many a dozen in one day. Once I started making them, I couldn't seem to stop.

Then I thrust them at my friends. Here, I said. Take this! It's for you. Then I shoved them at unsuspecting students. Here! Have one! What do you mean what is it? It's an I'm Sorry You Feel That Way tote bag, and it's yours. You are now a member of Tote Bag Nation.

Like the people featured on this blog, you, too, can become a member of Tote Bag Nation. All you have to do is buy the book I'm Sorry You Feel That Way and email me a copy of the receipt.

That's how you get in the raffle. More details about how the raffle works will be revealed at the appropriate time.

UPDATE:
Well, I don't really know about setting up a raffle. That seems like a stupid idea. How's this for better:

Starting on March 15, be among the first 20 people who send an email to imsorryyoufeelthatway@live.com telling me what you think of the book, and I will send you an I'M SORRY YOU FEEL THAT WAY tote bag. (Don't forget to include your snail mail address.)

These totes are the must have accessory for fashion foward students, staff and faculty at Minnesota State University-Mankato.
